MGE Travel Award

The Mobile Genetic Elements (MGE) travel award is sponsored by the Australian Society for Microbiology (ASM) Western Australia (WA) branch and is available to PhD candidates or early career professional microbiologists who are members of the ASM. This award is intended to help microbiologists from WA to attend and present at the MGE AUS meeting in Brisbane on the 15th and 16th February 2027. 

The travel award will include $1000 towards travel and accommodation costs, free conference attendance (paid by the MGE AUS committee) and a guaranteed oral presentation at the MGE AUS meeting.

Who is eligible: Applicants enrolled in a PhD or less than 5 years post-PhD conferral as of the closing date can apply. Applicants must also be an ASM member (or can apply during the application) and must not have previously received an ASM WA branch/ASM National travel award in the 12 months prior to the submission deadline.
